Triangle Entrepreneurship Week 2012 Is Here

As I mentioned last Monday, not reading a blog having to do with market research related on a Monday morning may seem odd. But this is the second week in a row where there is a major conference in the Raleigh-Durham area. During the week, I will be posting shorter blogs related to what I hear about the conferences. Again, my traditional postings will resume next week.
This week, the second annual year Triangle Entrepreneurship Week (TEW) will be held throughout locations in downtown Raleigh and downtown Durham. Throughout the week, the purpose of TEW is to “CONNECT entrepreneurs with local leaders, capital and resources so they may successfully COLLABORATE on current and future business opportunities to CREATE new jobs and economic growth in the state of North Carolina.”
It all kicks off on Monday afternoon with Triangle EW Opening day at NC State University, in conjunction with the NCSU Entrepreneurship Initative, where The Entrepreneurs Lecture Series will feature Grant Williard (Founder of Joulebug), Jesse Lipson (VP, GM of Data Sharing at Citrix Systems, Inc.), and Gerard J. Hall (Founder, President & CEO of SMT)
Also, there will be a variety of topics throughout the week including forums about government’s role in startups, emerging issues in the Triangle’s fashion, music, and entertainment industries, Starting Up Green: Integrating Triple Bottom Line Into Your Business, and Financial Pitfalls of Startups.
Also, there will be four pitch sessions where venture capital and angel fund investors will be placed in front of 3 Triangle founded companies pitching to raise funds.
And no conference is complete without networking events. This years networking events start off with the next installment of Startup and Play and concludes with Triangle EW Closing Party, which is being hosted by the American Tobacco Campus, Center for Entrepreneurial Development and Triangle Startup Factory, as the culmination of the week’s dedication to entrepreneurs in the Triangle area.
For those of you who can make it, and for those who wish you could, you can follow along this week on Twitter with the hashtag #TEW2012.
Let me know if you are attending. I would love to meet you.
